E.K. Hunt's book provided an excellent as well as indepth portrayal of the development of economic thought. The book explains in throrough detail the various points of origin for economic theory and the two roads that have been taken most prevalently since the time of Adam Smith.

Ekelund and Hebert provide a good overview of the general history of economics with a focus on economic theory and method instead of historical facts and events (as the title suggests). Overall, the book was informative though definitely with a more mainstream bent than I'd prefer/5.
